When you’re searching for home renovations or maybe even a roof replacement, odds are that you’ll run into either Angi or HomeAdvisor.

What are Angi and HomeAdvisor?

Angi and HomeAdvisor have a base of general contractors for your home’s projects. When you start searching for companies to help you with your project, you enter in the general information and Anig/HomeAdvisor passes along your information to this base of contractors. They match your inquiry with multiple contracts to allow you options for your project.

Example: searching for an install or replace an asphalt shingle roof

You’ll start your search off by typing in roofing and then choosing the option of installing or replacing an asphalt shingle roof. They’ll then ask for your zip code to find roofing companies near you. You’ll have to choose if you want a complete roof replacement, if you’re needing to install a new roof on new construction, or if you just need roof repairs.

After more questions regarding the type of property you own, they’ll ask if you’re ready to hire a roofing contractor right now or if you’re just in the planning and budgeting phase for your roofing project.

You’ll have to enter in all your contact information including your phone number and street address and email. Just as if you were requesting a free roof estimate from another roofing contractor near you. You’ll then be able to view three matching pros.

Three options for roofing contractorsYou only get three.

Yep – you only get three matching pros. These are companies that may not even be local to you but are paying Angi/HomeAdvisor monthly advertising costs to be put in front of your eyes. What if you wanted more options? You’ll have to start your search over and we’d suggest using Google instead.

You’ve already given your number and contact information over to Angi/HomeAdvisor. Multiple roofing contractors might be reaching out to you. This is how a lead service works. Wouldn’t you like to choose your own roofing company for your roofing project?
