The roof replacement process is complicated, but less so if you know what to expect!

A roof replacement is a major home renovation project, and it can feel like a daunting project. We know that you are looking to get your roof taken care of at the best price for the best quality, and we strive to provide that. On top of that, we aim to provide a high level of communication, as well as protect your property during the construction.

There are a lot of things that set Cenvar Roofing apart from the rest, so we want to take the time to help you know how to prepare for a roof replacement, and explain exactly what you can expect from us with each step of the process.

Schedule Your Free Estimate

We provide a pain-free experience from the very beginning. When you call any of our branch offices to schedule an estimate appointment, you’ll be greeted by the friendly voice of one of our office managers who will be happy to find a time that works well with your schedule. They will be able to answer any questions you may have and tell you everything you need to know about this stage in the process.

Estimate Day

On the day of your scheduled estimate, our sales representative will show up at your home on time and in uniform. They’ll climb onto your house to inspect and measure the roof, taking any necessary photos. After this, they’ll come have a conversation with you about your roof and what the best next steps are.

They will be able to answer any questions you have about your roof, materials, and the process. They will also explain the difference between asphalt shingle roofs, metal roofing materials and designer roofs and help you make the best decision for your home. At the end of the appointment, they will provide you with a quote and contract for the necessary work (See this article for our alterations to the estimate process during the Covid-19 pandemic).

You will have the option to sign the contract on the spot, or hang onto it while you decide. Once you sign the contract, we will look at our availability and give you a 1-2 week window of time that your roof replacement will be scheduled within. After that, you won’t hear from us until 1 week before the installation.

At this point, you will receive a call from our office manager and they will schedule the date and time for the project to start. If anything changes after this call, you will receive updates from our office manager or project manager. The materials for the new roof will be delivered 1-2 days before the installation date and can be left outside until the crews arrive.

On Roof Replacement Day

Our clean up process is thorough

On the day of your scheduled roof replacement, our crew will show up on time, in uniform and ready to work! We make it a priority to respect your property, have excellent communication throughout the day and make sure we leave your property looking flawless. We believe these measures set us apart from our competitors.

We clean up throughout the roof replacement

One concern that many homeowners have regarding the roof replacement process is that nails from their roof will be left behind and become a safety hazard to their yard, tires, and bare feet. When a roof is being torn off, 30,000 nails are being torn off, too.

As the nails are removed, they will fall on the walkways, landscape, and grass surrounding the house, as well as the driveway and other nearby structures. While contractors do their best to cover landscaping with tarps and contain the nails and debris, inevitably some escape.

In order to help protect your property, we have extensive quality control measures, including sweeping the area with a magnet to find loose nails in grass and landscaping around your home. Our goal is that we won’t leave a trace that we were on your property other than a beautiful new roof. We’ll leave your home and yard free of trash and debris once the job is done.

Client communication is important to us

We communicate

Throughout the project, the Project Manager assigned to your roof will maintain consistent communication with you, providing updates and asking any questions that may assist them in doing the job well. If you are at work, or otherwise occupied during the day, that is okay! Our project managers will keep you informed via phone calls or texts, and will provide photo updates throughout the day.

We do a final walkthrough after the roof replacement

Once the project has been completed at our high standards, the project manager will notify you  and be ready to do the final walkthrough. At this point, they’ll show you the work that has been done and answer any questions you may have. You’ll also have the opportunity to check for any damage or inconsistencies in order to make the project manager aware of them.

Once you are satisfied, you’ll sign off on the project, our team will leave, you’ll be sent an invoice for the completed work, and then you can enjoy your new roof.
