The Four Most Popular Metal Roof Colors
What are the most popular metal roof colors for your next roof replacement? Our VP of Sales was asked this question, and he quickly responded by saying the following metal roof colors were the four most popular.
Red – Green – Blue – Black
But what is the most popular color for a metal roof?
Black – by far!
If you search for the most popular metal roof colors, you’ll find varied results. But here in Virginia, we’ve found that black is chosen and sold the most by our team! But wait, doesn’t black attract the sun and make your roof hot? Unlike shingles, metal roofs have highly reflective properties in the materials which reflect the sun’s rays. So a black metal roof is still a great choice to match your home!
The longer your roof is exposed to direct sunlight, the more heat your roof will absorb. But with correct insulation in your home, less heat will be able to get into your home through the roof. A metal roof and even black metal roofs are still a great option and shouldn’t stop you from choosing this popular metal roof color.
How long does the color last on a metal roof?
Our metal roofs come with a 40-year paint warranty, so you’ll be protected from fading for at least 40-years! Don’t be fooled by some search results that say you’ll have to paint your roof after ten years.
What color metal roof fades the least?
Being protected from the elements helps the paint lifespan of your metal roof. But lighter colors in general, like your tans, grays, or whites, will naturally have less fading than metal roof colors that are more vibrant, like the four most popular roof colors mentioned above. If you’re looking for the most straightforward metal roof, you’d be looking at an unpainted barn-looking roof for your home.
How do you pick a metal roof color?
There are plenty of online guides when looking for combinations of metal roof colors for your home. As you can see in the pictures above, all the homes are different styles and colors. The green metal roof in the image above is a green standing seam metal roof; another is a red screw-down metal roof. Both homes have white siding but are different builds of homes. There are different choices of metal roof colors and styles to choose from when it comes time to pick a color.
We’ve also got a copper-colored metal roof option to help your home stand out from the rest!
